FIV/FeLV Testing
Our breeding program is also tested negative for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) via blood test by our veterinarian.
Fecal Ova and Parasite Testing
Our breeding Ragdolls also undergo regular fecal testing for ova, hookworms, roundworms, flea tapeworms, and whipworms.
Respiratory + Fecal PCR Testing
Additionally, our breeding cats undergo full respiratory + fecal PCR testing for other feline parasites and bacterias. PCR testing also tells us if the cat is actively shedding any viruses. This testing is very expensive, costing us thousands of dollars per year, but we feel that regular PCR testing is a very necessary part of maintaining a clean breeding program.
Our 2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee
Fully outlined in our Ragdoll Adoption Contract
Each of our Ragdoll kittens comes with a 2-year genetic health guarantee.
Our kittens are guaranteed against the genetic conditions of HCM and PKD for their first 2 years of life, which are two of the most prevalent genetic conditions in the Ragdoll Breed. We take precautions to decrease the odds of producing Ragdoll kittens with genetic disorders by testing every cat in our breeding program prior to breeding, as explained above.
Genetic testing does not guarantee that your kitten will never develop HCM or PKD, but it significantly decreases the risk.
Our 72-Hour Health Guarantee
Fully outlined in our Ragdoll Adoption Contract
Each of our Ragdoll kittens comes with a 72-hour health guarantee.
Our kittens are guaranteed for 72 hours against FIV, FeLV and serious, life-threatening health issues. If a licensed veterinarian finds that your kitten has FIV, FeLV or another serious, life-threatening health condition, a refund will be given upon return of the kitten. Your kitten must remain quarantined from all other pets and animals during this 72-hour time period, or else you forfeit the ability to use this guarantee.
